"Our outside might attract you
but it's what is inside that will make you want to return...!"
Built in 1888 by Capt. Henry Morgan, this historically significant and majestic home was purchased February 4, 1904 by Gertie and Harry Barthrop. The Barthrop's took advantage of the "high on the bluff" location to include a 2nd story terrace where they could easily watch the shipping activity in Port Townsend Bay.

In an early 1900 nationwide bleak economy and using Chicago's Richardson School of Architectural techniques, they courageously restyled the commodious structure to suit their needs, adding bay windows, larger rooms and four dormers to create the 3rd floor, giving the wonderful house its current commanding presence.

In 1991 we opened the Quimper Inn. Our guests now enjoy romantic views overlooking Port Townsend and its Bay with Marrowstone Island, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains as the background. Each of our 5 guest rooms is unique, elegant and uncluttered, yet all share the same beautiful woodwork, high ceilings and period fixtures.

The rooms have many turn of the century antiques mixed with some family favorites to create a relaxed atmosphere. Sue and Ron serve a full, candlelit breakfast each morning accompanied by music and lively conversation, in the dining room. The Quimper Inn has many places to enjoy a quiet moment, the second story terrace, a large living room with piano and fireplace and a side yard with colorful gardens.

It is an easy 4 block distance to both downtown and uptown restaurants, shops and galleries. We are all within the National Historic District.

No smoking is allowed in the home or on the porches. The Quimper Inn is an adult establishment and we welcome those over 12 years old.
